By 1998, toggletext had expanded to include a Natural Language Engineering Section, with a focus on the creation and delivery of automatic (machine) translation systems and related multilingual processing products and tools for the Asia-Pacific region. In 2000, ToggleText released its first product, Kataku, which automatically translated between Indonesian and English. In 2006 ToggleText created and introduced the Kataku SMS product in response to the pressing Indonesian requirement to translate SMS messages and email using mobile phone technology. Today, the continually improved descendant of this translation technology underlies a range of Kataku products and is still the only quality-assessed automatic translator for this language pair.
